White House: No Plans to Coordinate with Syria Against Militants

The White House says there are no plans to coordinate with Syria in the fight against Islamic State militants who threaten the United States and are trying to topple the Assad government. Spokesman John Earnest said Tuesday the United States does not recognize the regime of President Bashar al-Assad as the leader of Syria and has no plans to change that policy.
