Ethiopia - Nine bloggers and journalists held without charge beyond 80-day deadline

The six Zone9 bloggers and three journalists held arbitrarily since 25 and 26 April have not been formally charged within the 80-day limit allowed by Ethiopia's draconian terrorism law. The hearings that should have been held on 12 and 14 July to charge them were simply cancelled. Reporters Without Borders was disappointed but not really surprised to learn that the six bloggers and three journalists were not brought before a judge by the deadline for the completion of the police (...)
