After the takeover in Mosul

Scenes of devastation in Mosul, Iraq. Amateur video, which can not be independently verified by Reuters, appears to show the aftermath of fighting in Mosul, Iraq's second-largest city, which has fallen under the control of insurgents supporting the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant. There is no indication of when the material was shot. Iraq's million-strong army, trained and equipped by the U.S., largely evaporated as ISIL launched their assault on Mosul. But in recent days, government forces have been fighting back. The future of Iraq is still a work in progress. Borderlines of the country are in play, and alliances are shaken. As ISIL advances, the U.S. and Iran now share a common enemy, one of the same groups president Bashar al-Assad of Syria is battling for control of his country.
