Two killed in Kosovo power station blast near Pristina

Ambulances rush to a power station just outside Kosovo's capital after a hydrogen tank explodes. The blast struck the Kosovo A plant, the country's second biggest. A thick plume of smoke rose from the plant and the explosion could be heard as far as Pristina some 10km away. Relatives of plant workers arrive at the scene seeking news of their loved ones. The Health Minister said two people died and others were injured. (SOUNDBITE) (Albanian) KOSOVO HEALTH MINISTER, FERID AGANI, SAYING: "In the University Clinical Center of Kosovo some thirteen patients have arrived, all of them are safe from life threatening conditions, none of them has suffered serious injuries." Kosovo A and B power stations provide some 90% of the nation's electricity. The blast is likely to threaten electricity supplies in Kosovo, which already suffers regular blackouts.
