Protesters call for democratic China ahead of 25th Tiananmen Square anniversary

More than a thousand protesters on the streets of Hong Kong call for democracy in China. The march comes ahead of the 25th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre on June 4th, 1989, when Chinese troops used deadly force to crush a pro-democracy protest. This man said it was important for people in Hong Kong to value their freedom in marking the anniversary. (SOUNDBITE) (English) DESIGNER, YIU CHEONG, SAYING: "In mainland (China), this is illegal to do that. These is people trying to remember this stuff, but all, just the government, the police, are arresting those people for the reasons of making trouble, and none of them can doing that. But in Hong Kong we still have the freedom for doing that. So this is important for us, for Hong Kong people to do this."
