New protests in sea dispute

China's consulate in the Philippines capital was the scene of the latest protest in the increasingly heated row over South China Sea territory. Filipino and Vietnamese activists turned out protest China's presence in disputed waters. Vietnam's been outraged by the arrival of an oil rig in a section of the sea claimed both by Hanoi and Beijing. The Philippines has accused China of a building an air strip on a reef which both nations regard as theirs.
