China Protesters Shut Down Incinerator Project

Protesters in eastern China have succeeded in shutting down a government plan to build a waste incinerator they fear would impact their health. The demonstrations, which have lasted more than two weeks, turned violent Saturday, with hundreds of police clashing with protesters in the village of Yuhang, close to the city of Ningbo.
