Released OSCE observers arrive in Germany, express relief

ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION. OSCE observers who were released in eastern Ukraine earlier in the day arrived in Berlin on Saturday night, expressing relief and gratitude for support given to them. The military inspectors from Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark, Poland and Sweden were received at Berlin's Tegel airport shortly after 9 p.m. (1900 GMT) by German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen and her counterparts from Czech Republic and Denmark. The international monitors touched down at 8:58 p.m. (1858 GMT) on board a German air force plane which was sent to repatriate them from Kiev. The military observers were seized last week by pro-Russian separatists in the eastern Ukrainian city of Slaviansk. Their mission was under the auspices of the OSCE and the military verification officers led by German defence ministry staff were in Ukraine at Kiev's request.
