Streep honored, Lorde postpones concerts

Meryl Streep hit the red carpet in New York. The veteran actress was the recipient of the 14th annual Monte Cristo Award from the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. The award is given to those who show outstanding support for American theater. The three-time Oscar winner attended the National Playwrights Conference at the O'Neill in 1975 and acted in five plays. She was joined on the carpet by last year's honoree Michael Douglas and wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones. Lorde is sick. The Grammy-winning teen postponed a series of concerts in Australia because of a chest infection. The singer released a statement apologizing for the cancellations, promising that she would reschedule them for later in the year. The man who has sued "X-Men" filmmaker Bryan Singer claiming he had raped him as a teenager named three more Hollywood executives in lawsuits, alleging sexual abuse and rape and seeking damages exceeding $10 million.
