Top US Court Upholds Michigan Ban on Considering Race in College Admission

The U.S. Supreme Court has upheld Michigan's ban on using race as a factor in college admissions. The 6 to 2 ruling Tuesday rejected a challenge to a measure passed by referendum in 2006. The measure changed the state constitution to prohibit so-called "affirmative action" in college admissions.
