Bomb kills at least three in northwest Pakistan

Police said the explosive material was planted on a motorcycle and the police patrol van was the primary target. The bomb was detonated when the police vehicle, carrying some 13 personnel, drove past near the motorbike. The injured were brought to District Headquarters Hospital while those in critical condition were shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar. Charsadda is a district located in the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. It is close to Pakistan's troubled tribal region where troops have, for years, been fighting Islamic militants.
