Ford May Be Close To Naming Fields To Replace Mulally As CEO

According to Bloomberg News, Ford Motor Company is poised to tap COO Mark Fields to succeed Alan Mulally in the company’s CEO later this year. Citing unidentified sources saying Ford could announce the promotion and reveal Mulally’s retirement date as early as May 1. It would be the second shoe to drop after automaker promoted Fields to the chief operating job in December 2012, making him the heir apparent.
