Soda saves home from fire

UPSOUND: WHEELBARROW CLEANUP IS UNDERWAY IN FIRE RAVAGED NEIGHBORHOODS OF VALPARAISO, CHILE. A MASSIVE FIRE THAT BURNED THROUGH ONE OF THE CITY'S POOREST NEIGHBORHOODS HAS STARTED TO DIE DOWN... ...GIVING RESIDENTS THE CHANCE TO GO BACK AND SEE WHAT'S LEFT OF THEIR BELONGINGS. ONE HOUSE APPEARED NEARLY UNSCATHED, AND ITS OWNER SAYS THEY SAVED IT -- WITH SODA JOSE TRIVINO, OWNER OF THE HOME, SAYING: "We put out this house with just soda, with only soda, until the firefighters arrived, but they didn't have any water when they got this far, so they couldn't do anything. And the soda and the beer is what saved us. There's nothing else to say...it was a miracle." FIREFIGHTERS STRUGGLED OVERNIGHT TO GET THE UPPERHAND ON THE BLAZE THAT STARTED ON SATURDAY.
