Biden, Kerry unveil World Cup trophy in United States

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) In a show of athletic diplomacy, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry unveiled the 2014 FIFA World Cup trophy in Washington on Monday (April 14). During the ceremony, the two high-ranking U.S. officials remarked how valuable soccer, and sports in general, is in finding common ground across the globe. "This trophy represents the shared hopes and dreams of billions of people around the world, and I cannot think of anything that unifies people as much, brings out the best and shows our commonality - the common spirit of sportsmanship, the common spirit of competition, the common spirit of great athleticism," Kerry said. Qualifying countries from around the world will travel to Brazil for the Cup. Brazil kicks off the tournament with a group stage match against Croatia in Sao Paulo on June 12.
