Partial results put Abdullah in lead for Afghanistan's next president

Former opposition leader Abdullah Abdullah is in the lead after the first official results from Afghanistan's presidential election. Abdullah received nearly 42 percent of the vote, but he's not celebrating yet. (SOUNDBITE) (English) PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE ABDULLAH ABDULLAH SAYING: "At this stage I will say that it is a very preliminary partial result and eight province are not being counted into this result but as a whole we are doing better than everybody else as we had done, as we had said earlier so it is ok." The tally was based on 10 percent of the vote from 26 out of 34 provinces. As the remaining votes come in, the results are expected to change. The Independent Election Complaints Commission also has 870 "Priority A" complaints to review. Those are considered serious enough to affect the outcome of the election.
