Dave Clark relives his past

The Dave Clark Five topped the British charts in 1965 and were described by critics as an enormous pop phenomenon. The group has sold more than 50 million albums to date and some critics rank them in the same class as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Group founder Dave Clark had said he would never do a documentary on the heyday of his group because he never wanted to live in the past -- but time and circumstances changed. SOUNDBITE: Dave Clark, The Dave Clark Five, saying (English): "After we did the Hall of Fame, Tom Hanks said to me, as well as Steve Van Zandt and Bruce Springsteen, you know you've got to do it. You owe it to yourself, you owe it to history, and more than anything you owe it to the boys. Well, I just lost my best mate, so I thought, 'okay I'll do it.' And that's how it happened." At the time they were inducted, the band had already been broken up for 38 years. SOUNDBITE: Dave Clark, The Dave Clark Five, saying (English):
