Royal couple and baby arrive in New Zealand

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and baby Prince George arrived in New Zealand on Monday (April 7), to begin a 10-day tour of the country. The royals landed in thick fog that caused disruptions to flights in the capital and threatened to see them diverted to a military airfield local media reported. Catherine, popularly known as Kate, appeared in a bright red pill box hat and coat billowing in the wind as she came down the stairs carrying the baby George. They were greeted at Wellington Airport by the Prime Minster John Key and his wife Bronagh and the Wellington Mayor Celia Wade-Brown. Some members of the public braved the weather for a glimpse of the royals as they drove around Wellington's bay to a welcoming ceremony at Government House. The royals are expected to have a private day on Tuesday (April 8) before beginning a full programme of public events on Wednesday (April 9).
