Living on the edge: Zimbabwean communities and anti-personnel mines

On the occasion of the International Day of Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action (4 April), the ICRC is highlighting the plight of communities living along the Zimbabwean border with Mozambique who continue to suffer from the effects of anti-personnel mines more than 30 years after they were laid. Since 2012, the ICRC has been working with the Zimbabwe Mine Action Centre to enhance the capacity and skills of its deminers to search for, clear and destroy anti-personnel mines in south-eastern Zimbabwe.
