US Economy Advanced Faster at End of 2013

The U.S. economy grew slightly faster than first thought to end last year. The Commerce Department reported Thursday the American economy, the world's largest, advanced 2.6 percent in the October-to-December period, up from an earlier estimate of 2.4 percent. The agency said consumer spending, which accounts for 70 percent of the U.S. economy, rose at its fastest pace in three years. But fourth quarter growth was slower than the 4.1 percent growth in the July-September quarter....
