Tiger that attacked magician Roy Horn dies

The white tiger that appeared in thousands of performances with Siegfried & Roy, and attacked Roy Horn during a performance in 2003, has died. The 17-year old tiger, named Mantecore, passed away after a short illness on March 19. The illusionist duo announced the tiger's death on their Facebook page on Tuesday (March 25). Mantecore was part of the "Siegfried & Roy" show at Las Vegas' Mirage Resort and Casino; it lunged at Horn's neck during a performance in October 2003. Horn suffered severe blood loss and a stroke, which left him partially paralyzed. The duo canceled their show and Horn has made few public appearances since the attack. The tiger had been living at the Mirage's Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden attraction.
