Shabab Militants Kill 6 in Central Somalia

Witnesses in central Somalia say al-Shabab militants have killed at least six people in an attack on a town they lost last week to government and African forces. A VOA reporter in Mogadishu said those killed in Buloburde early Tuesday include a senior Somali military commander. Residents reported heavy gunfire between al-Shabab fighters and a group of Somali and Djiboutian soldiers. There were also reports of explosions.
