Funeral in Donetsk, Ukraine

At a funeral service in Donetsk they chant "heroes never die." The later sing the Ukrainian anthem as they bury a 22-year-old man stabbed to death in clashes. The new governor of the region says Russians were behind the violent clashes. Mourners in the Eastern part of Ukraine tell Reuters that while many people in the area are culturally Russian, they do not want to become a part of Russia. (SOUNDBITE) (Russian) DONETSK MOURNER, TATIANA, SAYING: "There's only one way to react to this: it's horrible. When young people are dying in the country for going out with the Ukrainian flag, in their country, with the flag of their country, it's horrible." As mourners gather in one part of the city -- thousands of pro-Russian demonstrators gather to call for a referendum to join Russia. On Sunday such a referendum will be held in Crimea.
