Suicide Bomber at Least Kills 45 in Iraq

Police in southern Iraq say a suicide bomber has detonated his explosive-rigged minibus at a security checkpoint, killing at least 45 people and wounding more than 157 others. Officials say the blast, which set many cars ablaze, was set off Sunday at the northern entrance of the Shi'ite-dominated city of Hillah, about 100 kilometers south of Baghdad.
