Italy's 'The Great Beauty' looking good for Oscar win

The race for Best Foreign Language Film at this year's Oscars looks to be a close call. The current favourite is Paolo Sorrentino's Italian drama "The Great Beauty". It follows a successful novelist who wanders the streets of Rome after celebrating his sixty-fifth birthday, only to find a sense of personal unfulfilment. Belgium's "Broken Circle Breakdown" isn't far behind in the betting odds. It's based on the stage play of the same name and follows a couple whose love for bluegrass music unites them over a seven year relationship. Another contender for the Oscar is Danish film "The Hunt". Directed by Thomas Vinterberg, the movie depicts a man who becomes the target of mass hysteria when he's wrongly accused of sexually assaulting a child. "Omar" is Palestine's second ever foreign-language nomination at the Oscars. The thriller follows a young Palestinian man who's forced to co-operate with Israeli authorities. And rounding out the
