Italy's PM pledges radical reforms

In the early hours of the morning, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi won a crucial confidence vote for his new government. SOUNDBITE) (Italian) SPEAKER OF THE UPPER HOUSE, PIERO GRASSO, SAYING: "Senators present 309, senators who voted 308, 169 approve, 139 against, the house approves." But the out-going Mayor of Florence still needs to win a second confidence vote in the lower house, where his Democratic Party holds a strong majority. Earlier Italy's newly sworn-in Prime Minister set out an ambitious plan of change. He proposed election law changes, tax cuts and investment in jobs to tackle Italy's ailing economy....but was short on the details.
