Harper Makes Keystone Pit Stop Ahead Of Three Amigos

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper made a pit stop Wednesday before his meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama and Mexican Leader Enrique Pena Nieto and it was tied to the politically sensitive issue of Keystone XL. Harper visited business executives at the Mexico City offices of TransCanada Corp., the proponent behind the Keystone XL pipeline project, whose future rests in the hands of President Obama. At the TransCanada offices, where business executives sat alongside other Canadian officials, Mr. Harper discussed energy opportunities in Mexico, while refraining from mentioning the word Keystone, according to a pool report of the encounter. Media were allowed in for roughly a minute to hear the Prime Minister’s opening remarks.
