"There is nothing, nothing for us here"- displaced man in CAR

Help arrives in Central African Republic. The United Nations World Food Program began airlifting food into the war-torn country as deepening violence has left many roads too dangerous for travel. (SOUNDBITE) (English) WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME SPOKESMAN ALEXIS MASCIARELLI, SAYING: "This is a lifeline that will allow us to bring, immediately, emergency food relief to the people who've been affected by the conflict here in the Central African Republic, and will also allow us to start pre-positioning food all across CAR before the rainy season starts and makes most of the roads impassable." More than a million people are in need and some have given up hope. (SOUNDBITE) (French ) NANA HAMDIOU FLEEING CAR FOR CHAD, SAYING: "There is nothing, nothing for us here." The food will be distributed to people forced to flee their homes. Food is also urgently needed across the country ahead of the rainy season in May, the annual so-called "lean season."
