Rand Paul, libertarian group suing Obama admin over NSA spying

After months of revelations of spying by the U.S. National Security Agency, a lawsuit has been filed in federal court to stop some of these practices. Here's Republican Senator Rand Paul. (SOUNDBITE) (English) U.S. SENATOR RAND PAUL, REPUBLICAN FROM KENTUCKY, SAYING: "We are filing suit against the President of the United States, in defense of the Fourth Amendment. We will ask the question in court whether a single warrant can apply to the records of every American phone user all of the time, without limits, without individualization." The lawsuit stems from the NSA collection of personal telephone metadata belonging to millions of Americans. Details of these programs were leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden last year. The lawsuit identifies President Barack Obama and various members of his national security team as the defendants. At the news conference outside the court, Paul told journalists that the collection has not helped.
