Flood-Battered Britain On Course For Wettest Winter In 250 Years

Flood-battered Britain is on course for its wettest winter in 250 years, officials said Tuesday as hundreds more homes were submerged in a crisis that could cost $1.85 billion. Thousands of residents were evacuated from houses overnight after the River Thames burst its banks west of London, bringing the disaster closer to the door of Prime Minister David Cameron who has faced criticism over the government’s response.
