Violence wreaks havoc on Bangkok a day before election

A shootout on the streets of Bangkok has protesters and journalists running for their lives. Tensions have skyrocketed a day ahead of a general election that few see restoring stability in polarized Thailand. At least two explosions and dozens of gunshots were heard on the streets. The attack took place near a protest site in the city's north close to a stronghold of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra's party. Some of her supporters are already out on the street to make sure Sunday's ballot is not obstructed. So far, at least three people have been wounded.
