Morsi Stands Trial in Jailbreak Case

A new trial of ousted Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi has begun, with the former leader facing charges of breaking out of prison in 2011. Egyptian state media said Morsi was in the courtroom Tuesday in Cairo, where he is being tried along with 130 other people. The co-defendants include members of his Muslim Brotherhood, the Palestinian militant group Hamas and the Lebanese group Hezbollah.
