Anti-government protester killed in Bangkok

In Bangkok, blood and bullet holes after violence broke out near a polling station. (SOUNDBITE) (Thai) 64 YEAR-OLD PROTESTER FROM NAKORN SRI THAMMARAT, IAN PETSONG SAYING: "When we turned the car, they shot us several times bang! bang! bang! They shot us." Police say a prominent anti-government protester was killed in clashes between opponents and supports of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Sunday. Many in this crowd are accusing the government of targeting the protester, Suthin Taratin. They also say reform within the government is necessary before voters head to the polls next week. Tension between the two groups has gripped Thailand for the past eight years -- bringing growth in Southeast Asia's second largest economy to a halt. Eleven people were also injured in Sunday's clashes.
