Schumacher's fans gather outside hospital to wish him Happy Birthday

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Fans of Michael Schumacher gathered outside Grenoble hospital on Friday, in a show of support and to wish the retired Formula One champion a Happy Birthday. Schumacher, who suffered serious head injuries after a skiing accident, is spending his 45th birthday in hospital but is in a stable condition, doctors say. About a dozen fans sporting Ferrari jerseys stood in front of the hospital with banners reading 'Schumi, all our thoughts for you and your family' and flags with the Ferrari logo. The most successful driver in Formula One history with 91 race wins to his credit suffered severe head injuries while skiing off piste during a family vacation in the French Alpine resort of Meribel on Sunday. His agent Sabine Kehm said on Wednesday that he was in a stable condition and it was too early to talk about his further prospects. No further update was given on Thursday.
