Taiwan welcomes the New Year with a bang

ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION Tens of thousands of people in Taiwan welcomed 2014 on Wednesday with a glistening display of fireworks off one of the world's tallest buildings, the Taiwan 101 building. Local media reported 24,000 individual rockets were fired, costing more than $1-million. This year's display also commemorates the tenth year the celebrations have been held at the iconic Taiwan 101 building. The theme of this year's fireworks display was the color gold, which was selected in honor of 2014, the year of the horse, local media added.
