UN climate talks limp toward deal

Almost 200 countries kept hope alive in Warsaw, Poland on Saturday for a 2015 climate deal to fight global warming. They've been in fragmented U.N. climate talks for two weeks, but finally overcame stumbling blocks on greenhouse gas emissions cuts -- and aid for developing nations. EU Commissioner for Climate Action, Connie Hedegaard: EUROPEAN UNION COMMISSIONER FOR CLIMATE ACTION, CONNIE HEDEGAARD, SAYING: "If you had asked me 12 hours ago I would have been extremely concerned that we wouldn't achieve much, maybe even would backtrack. And then I think that all good forces came together in the end and we have had a good outcome." The talks set up a new Warsaw International Mechanism. It's designed to help the poor cope with the impact of climate change, like heatwaves, droughts, floods, desertification and rising sea levels.
