New video shows typhoon wave washing away house

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) A newly released video filmed by an aid worker as typhoon Haiyan ripped through the Philippines shows the tsunami-like power of its storm surge. Plan Philippines Community Development Worker Nickson Gensis was in Eastern Samar as the storm approached. He, along with five others, took refuge in the top floor of a boarding house and said that while the others were praying he pulled out his camera and started filming. His footage shows the storm surge from Haiyan completely wash away a house and in another instance, turn the area from barren land to completely inundated in less than 30 seconds. With the storm originally packing 275kph (170 mph) winds, his footage also shows trees and even houses bowing to the colossal forces exerted on them. While much of the boarding house he was in was flooded and destroyed, he himself was back on the job only a few hours after the winds subsided looking to deliver aid to survivors.
