Syrian rebels clash with government forces in Damascus

WARNING-STORY CONTAINS GRAPHIC IMAGES With MIG fighter jets flying overhead, Syrians in Deraa had to flee from what appeared to be a missile strike. New amateur video purports to show the strike and its aftermath. As smoke billowed into the skies, emergency responders rushed to the scene. Locals banding together carried the wounded off to safety while others watched the skies for more attacks. Elsewhere in the country, more amateur video appears to show a rebel loading an ammunition belt before firing a machine gun outside Damascus. Just outside, more rebels take up positions on a small hill, firing assault rifles and even a rocket propelled grenade launcher. Reuters cannot independently verify the videos, which were posted on a social media website. The violence in Syria has killed more than 100,000 people and displaced millions.
