Angela Merkel calls Obama about phone hacking suspicions

Did the U.S. hack into German Chancellor Angela Merkel's cell phone? The German government says there are signs they did, and on Wednesday --- Merkel called to demand answers from White House. As we've said in the past, we gather foreign intelligence just like similar agencies of other countries. But we are working to, as the President has said, to review the way we gather intelligence to ensure that we properly balance both the security concerns of our citizens and allies with the privacy concerns that everyone shares."
