Blast Near Damascus Kills 16 Syrian Soldiers

A Syrian activist group says a suicide car bombing at a checkpoint just outside Damascus has killed at least 16 soldiers. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the attack Saturday was carried out by the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front, although there has been no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
