Engagement is not appeasement-Hagel

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said actions speak louder than words when it comes to Iran's willingness to compromise on its nuclear weapons program. Kerry made the statement during a joint news conference with Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel in Japan. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNITED STATES SECRETARY OF STATE, JOHN KERRY, SAYING: "It's not words that will make a difference, it's actions. And the actions are clearly going to have to be sufficient that the world will understand that not only will they not be able to be able to be on the road to get a weapon but there's no ability to suddenly break out and achieve that." Dismissing comments made by by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who criticised Iran's offer to resolve it's nuclear dispute, Hagel said, (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNITED STATES SECRETARY OF DEFENCE, CHUCK HAGEL, SAYING: "Engagement is not appeasement, it's not surrender, it's not negotiation."
