Evans back after WSB shock

By: Mark StaniforthFred Evans is the first to admit his career has not gone entirely to plan since a series of all-action performances swept him to an Olympic welterweight silver medal at the London 2012 Games last summer. The 22-year-old Welshman beat world number one Taras Shelestyuk en route to the Olympic final where he was edged out by excellent Kazakh Serik Sapiyev, and looked to have underlined his arrival on the big stage. But a bruising experience in last season's World Series of Boxing - in which Evans had to forsake his usual 69kg limit to fight in the middleweight category, suffered a bad stoppage defeat to Dmytro Mytrofanov - led him to seriously consider his amateur future.
