Charles honored with limited edition U.S. postage stamp

The United States Postal Service unveiled the new, limited edition stamp in Los Angeles on Monday (September 23). Ray Charles Robinson, Jr., the singer's son, was on hand to accept the honor. SOUNDBITE Ray Charles Robinson, Jr., the singer's son, saying (English): "Who would've dreamt that a poor, African-American child, a blind African-American child from Albany, Georgia would become an American icon. So today is truly special what the United States Postal Service has done as well as the Ray Charles Foundation." The stamp features an image of Charles taken later in his career.
