Jackman hits the 'Prisoners' carpet

Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal discussed the dark side of the human condition before the "Prisoners" film premiere in Beverly Hills on Thursday (Sept. 12). SOUNDBITE: Hugh Jackman, "Prisoners" star, saying (English): "It's very much thematically an allegory about the individual versus the institution. I always think to this day, the most powerful line in the movie comes from Viola Davis who says 'We're just going to ignore him. We're going to ignore what Keller's doing, we know what he's doing, but we're not going to stop him.' And I always saw it as very similar in a way to probably what happened after September 11, what was happening in Guantanamo Bay, we knew. But when people are frightened, they will allow frightening things to happen." Jackman plays a desperate father who takes justice into his own hands when his 6-year-old daughter goes missing. Gyllenhaal's role as a detective represents the law that's failed Jackman's character. SOUNDBITE: Jake G
