White gets posthumous Walk of Fame star

Barry White was given a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Thursday (September 12) - the 2,506th on the famed sidewalk. White's wife, Glodean, was on hand to accept the honor, as was Berry Gordy, the founder of the Motown record label. SOUNDBITE: Berry Gordy saying (English): "He was a big guy with a big sound and a big heart. One of a kind, and he was always good to me and my family. I'm thrilled that Barry White is getting his long overdue star right here on the Hollywood Walk of Fame." White, a two-time Grammy Award winner, was known for his rich bass voice and enduring hits like "You're The First, The Last, My Everything" and "Can't Get Enough of Your Love." He died of heart and kidney failure in 2003 at the age of 58.
