India gang rape sentencing postponed

The men gang-raped and tortured the 23-year-old woman on a bus in New Delhi, before dumping her and her male friend on the road. She died in a Singapore hospital two weeks later of internal injuries. Defence lawyer for two of the four suspects said they had asked for leniency from the judge. Outside the court, protesters demanded the death penalty. Father of the victim spoke to journalists before the hearing and said he wants them to be hanged.
