"Under the Skin" starring Scarlett Johansson premieres at Venice film festival

Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson did not alienate her fans at the Venice premiere of "Under The Skin" on Tuesday (September 3), a film featuring the actress as a predatory extraterrestrial in the Scottish highlands. At the premiere, Johansson patiently signed autographs and posed for photographs with her admirers on the red carpet. At an early Tuesday (September 03) press screening the film got a lukewarm reception. Booing followed the customary applause after the long-awaited comeback for British director Jonathan Glazer. In "Under the Skin," Johansson as an alien named Laura was filmed in real-life settings, including a shopping center and a street in a drizzly Scottish town, surrounded by members of the public. Glazer and his team used hidden cameras to capture scenes among ordinary people. "Under the Skin" is one of 20 new films in competition for a prestigious Golden Lion at the 70th annual festival.
