The Harry Potter star causes fan fever in Venice

EDITORS PLEASE NOTE: ROUGH CUT - NO NARRATION STORY: Daniel Radcliffe caused a stir on the Venice Lido on Sunday (September 1) as he arrived to present "Kill Your Darlings", his new film that takes the actor a critical step further away from his days as boy wizard Harry Potter. Radcliffe pulled the biggest crowds so far to the waterfront site of the 70th Venice film festival with near-hysteric female fans closely following his every move between festival venues. In "Kill Your Darlings", a seductive tale of friendship, gay love and murder, Radcliffe, 23, plays poet Allen Ginsberg aged 17 - a young, naive and closeted teen who struggles to find his place in the world years before the sexual and cultural liberation of the 1960s. It sees Radcliffe pushing boundaries again as Ginsberg comes of age, including a raunchy sex scene with a man. The actor said he believed his loyal fans continue to support his unconventional character choices and spoke about dealing with the press attention
