Not objects found in or pictures of caves, but the entire caves.According to him, the acquisition process goes a little like this.He finds one somewhere his home state of Minnesota, and then locates the owner and tries to get them to sell him the land. The owner tells him he’s nuts and questions why in the world they would sell anybody an acre right in the middle of their other ones. Ackerman then proceeds to offer hefty sums for subterranean domain, and the collection continues to grow. Some of the caves have been explored; the interiors of others have yet to be fully travelled. To find them in the first place he looks for telltale signs of existence – sinkholes being one of the more common.
