Mexico mob routs local police

Chaos reigns in the Mexican town of Tixtla as local vigilantes turn on police they say are hand in glove with organised criminals. The vigilantes armed themselves with hunting rifles before launching their assault in broad daylight. During three hours they seized the town's municipal centre, attacked police officers and confiscated their weapons. The vigilantes demanded the release of detained comrades. They say the police are colluding with the criminals they're supposed to stand against.
