Israeli army trains to fight Hezbollah

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: A dozen of Israeli soldiers trained on Thursday at a training ground modeled on a South Lebanese village so they could better learn how to fight Lebanese Hezbollah militants, the military said. The training camp was built two years after the 2006 Israel-Lebanon war and was modeled on a typical village in South Lebanon with a main street, mosque and underground tunnels linking buildings, according to the military. The targets at the center of the exercise were Hezbollah operations and launch pad. Hezbollah has sent thousands of fighters to help Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces combat rebels, according to Israeli and Western estimates. This has also led Israel to boost its forces on the Syrian border, where it believes Hezbollah is preparing for the day when it could fight Israel.
